Vancouver engagement photographer // you can bring me flowers

I was excited when I received an email from Sara, because she does what I always wanted to do when I grew up: she's a florist.  It was very exciting to meet a real live florist.

It was also very exciting that her engagement session would involve flowers, flowers and flowers!  And old books.  And their love story of Canadian boy meets Australian girl and falls in love.  (A tale as old as time, and one that gets awesomer each time I hear it.)

Sara & Ryan knew the perfect location for their engagement session: an archway of trees at Stanley Park that they'd often walked through.  The morning was overcast and their outfits were amazing (seriously - I want her closet!) , and they brought along an afghan blanket made by Ryan's grandmother (how awesome is that?!) and the world was beautiful and so were they.

Congratulations again, Sara & Ryan!

"The time has come," the Walrus said,

"To talk of many things:

Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--

Of cabbages--and kings."

I've met so many wonderful people and had so many fun sessions in the past couple weeks - so many that I haven't had time to put them up on the blog!  So here are some sneak peeks of sessions I've done and the beautiful people who have put up with my crazy ideas, laughed only minimally as I lay down in the middle of the street, and managed real smiles for the camera!

I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity of witnessing so much love :)

surrey engagement photographer / love, wine & crayons

Mira & Jason met me at Holland Park in Surrey, wearing beautiful clothes and big smiles and carrying two wine glasses.  (Good start to an engagement session, right?)

They got engaged one day last summer, after spending the afternoon downtown.  Jason told me he'd been carrying the ring around in his pocket all day, sweating and nervous and silent.  When he'd finally popped the question, he found out he had no reason to fear - she said yes!

And here they are today.  I had so much fun with them, posing them and laughing and making them kiss (as a photographer, I have the power to make people kiss!) and sip wine (they love wine, so they brought along a bottle), and colour (yes - you read that right!  Mira & Jason drew their own Save-the-Date sign with wooden pencil crayons!).

All in all - an evening well spent :)

spanish banks engagement photographer / early morning love story

I know Andrew's sister, and she is awesome.  So when he and Shahla contacted me to take their engagement photos, I knew that they must be awesome too!  I didn't know quite HOW awesome they would be, however.  This engagement session was so much fun!

Andrew & Shahla got engaged at Spanish Banks Beach, and that was where we decided to take their engagement photos - at 7:30 on a Saturday morning.  The weather was similar to the day they got engaged - misty and a little bit rainy, but they braved through it, with their blanket and coffees!  And here are the photos from that lovely grey morning.
